Map Showing Referendum Area
The results of the referendum on Ordinance No. 24-04z, which rezoned 34.90 acres of land at 2088 North 4500 West to residential multi-family/planned residential development (R-M/PRD), have been finalized. After a thorough review and verification process assisted by Davis County, it has been determined that an insufficient number of signatures were verified within two of the four voter participation areas, resulting in the referendum failing to move forward.
Following certification, and reviewing finalized numbers from Davis County, the results are as follows:
✅ District A
Minimum Threshold: 865
Verified Signatures: 1049
Status: Sufficient
❌ District B
Minimum Threshold: 766
Verified Signatures: 752
Status: Insufficient
✅ District C
Minimum Threshold: 955
Verified Signatures: 1150
Status: Sufficient
❌ District D
Minimum Threshold: 842
Verified Signatures: 568
Status: Insufficient

While the referendum did not meet the signature thresholds in all voter participation areas, the City encourages residents to remain engaged and lend their voices as Clinton begins the critical process of updating its General Plan.
“I am in awe of the passion and dedication of our residents,” states Clinton City Mayor Brandon Stanger. “Regardless of the outcome, it is clear that our community cares deeply about the future of our city. I encourage everyone who participated in this process to join us as we begin working on our General Plan. This guiding document will continue to shape our city for years to come.”
Clinton City has selected the firm Psomas to assist in formulating the General Plan update. Over the coming months, the city will conduct several surveys and public outreach events to ensure community voices are heard. Residents are encouraged to sign up for email notifications on the city’s website at www.clintoncity.net to stay informed about upcoming opportunities to participate.
