Water Advisory Update

CLINTON RESIDENTS: Monday August 11th @ 3:00 PM

THE WATER ADVISORY HAS BEEN LIFTED FROM THE ENTIRE CITY.

Today’s water sample test results have shown negative bacteriological results. Also the required chlorine residual levels within the City water system have been achieved, so the County Health Dept is allowing the City to release the water advisory. We are continuing with a higher than normal level of chlorine in the water for a while as a precaution, thus the water may have a little bit of the chlorine taste to it, but it is not harmful. We will be continuing to look for any other cross connections with the secondary water system. If you have any information on known cross connections, please contact the City. If you haven’t done so yet, please check the City web site or Facebook page for home water system flushing recommendations from the County Health Dept. We thank all of you for your patience. Also a huge thanks goes out to our City personnel who diligently worked long hours and through the weekend to super-chlorinate the water system, flush the lines and test the chlorination residuals.

Information from the Davis County Health Department:

When the water in your section of Clinton City has been declared safe:
· Let chlorinated cold water run through every faucet in your home or business for 20 minutes followed by two minutes of straight hot water.
· Drain and flush all icemakers, water heaters, purifiers, water softeners, and reverse osmosis systems. Follow manufacturers’ recommendations when cleaning or replacing filters or screening devices.
· Throw out ice cubes or other water stored in refrigerators that have connections to culinary water sources.

Proposed property tax increase usage.

The City’s proposed property tax increase of 39.68% is solely and exclusively to provide more needed street repair and reconstruction. The Pavement Report below outlines the City street needs and costs.
